Balancing Act
The hard work of balancing a creative life
Over the last few months I have believed more and more that choosing to live a creative life is what is meant for me. I never considered myself a creative prior to October 2023, but I have come to the realization that the dreams I have in the short and long term, like publishing a book, by default make me creative. I am enjoying the feeling that I have the power to create art that allows me to live my fullest life and that might also reach others who need it.
Beth Kempton started a #tinypoem challenge yesterday, and while I missed day 1, I wrote two today.
"Wolf" Padded paws prowl through softly falling snow black eyes scanning the horizon for the perfect prey stalking silent amid barren trees an empty plain beckoning to be explored yearning to be ruled the lone wolf regal the king of his domain
"Ripple" My heart rate slows matching the lap of water over and around my toes caressing my conscience as the water recedes pulling my worries with the ripple of the wave the ripple of the wave
Here’s to the commitment to find the time to write down my thoughts, to write down my heart, onto the page.

Lovely poems, Tessa.
Follow that creative dream! When we create, we participate in the very essence of existence.
